Questionnaire

This is a copy of my original questionnaire. This questionnaire gave me ideas into what type of magazine to make and what to feature. When looking at the results I found that  'Pop' was the most popular genre of music. I also discovered that my target audience prefer specific magazines rather than general ones which have lots of different music genres. The next question looked into if people thought that the magazine should include giveaways or chances to win. I asked this to help me know what to add on the contents page of my magazine. I found that my target audience liked red or blue the most for the colour scheme. I have decided to choose red because it stands out more on the shelves as it catches the eye  Question number six let me know that my target audience preferred monthly magazines and number seven let me know how much they were willing to pay for a music magazine. The majority of the people chose from £3-£4, I chose to price my magazine around £3.10 because I know that they would be willing to purchase it at this price.
If I were to improve this questionnaire, I would make it more clear as to what I was asking the participant, as the boxes are unclear and could be confusing and I would also add a few more questions about the artist that is featured or if they prefer articles or interviews for the main double page spread.

Textual Analysis of Q magazine-double page spread

This is my textual analysis of a Q magazine double page spread. I decided to do an analysis of this type of page so that I could learn about the main features; text, image, layout and design. This will inspire me when designing my double pages and help me to know what to include. 

By doing this textual analysis, I have learnt about what this type of magazine can feature and include on a double page spread. I like the way they have used a restricted palette of colours- red,white,black and silver, making the pages less confusing to read. I will try to stick to a minimal amounts of colours for my double page spread. I also like the contrasting colours they have chosen because they stand out and make a statement- drawing attention.
